Leading Schoolwide SEL
CASEL's step-by-step process and tools will guide you in building a plan for systemic SEL implementation in your school and community.
This is a self-paced, virtual course.
Course access is for one year. You can take this course individually or in coordination with your team as you prepare to lead or refine your approach to schoolwide social and emotional learning implementation.

Set your own pace: Decide how you want to complete each of the five chapters and what time of year/time of day works best for you and your team.

Access video presentations led by CASEL: Our experts will share guidance and their experiences supporting and learning from school district partners.

Engage in interactive discussion boards: You can share ideas and ask questions of the CASEL team and other participants.

Download the workbook: It contains prompts and activities to record your thinking and progress, share with your leadership team, and guide your school community through the SEL action planning process.
What will you learn?
You’ll gain the necessary expertise to create an intentional, collaborative process that engages adults, supports students, and creates equitable learning environments that promote academic, social, and emotional learning. After completing this course, you will be able to:

Understand CASEL’s Theory of Action for systemic SEL implementation in service of equity and excellence, including the 10 indicators of schoolwide SEL.

Develop and apply strategies to promote SEL for students and to strengthen adult SEL competencies and capacity.

Assess your current SEL implementation, resources, and needs.

Draft goals and begin a plan for implementing and sustaining schoolwide SEL.
